I'm super excited to announce that Tony Horton and Shaun T are coming to XBOX One in December, to help Microsoft launch XBOX Fitness. Tony Horton will have a busy month with the release of P90X3 on December 10th, and Shaun T will be having a busy December as Focus T25 continues to dominate the home fitness arena. But what is XBOX Fitness all about?

XBOX Fitness adds a new level of interactivity to your home workouts. While you workout, you can get real feedback on how you are doing. XBOX One can determine your heart-rate, your speed, and your flexibility. What Microsoft Purchasing Nokia Will Do For Fitness https://www.smartassfitness.com/microsoft-purchasing-nokia-fitness/ https://www.smartassfitness.com/microsoft-purchasing-nokia-fitness/#respond Tue, 03 Sep 2013 04:02:52 +0000 http://www.smartassfitness.com/?p=3902 Unless you're living under a rock, Microsoft has just agreed to purchase Nokia. Ok well not all of Nokia, but pretty much all of it. It's mobile unit. So why is this even remotely relevant to fitness you might as? How does Microsoft Purchasing Nokia's Mobile Unit change your life? Huge!

What Do You Use to Workout

When you workout, you are likely never too far from your smartphone. Whether it's your Android or your iPhone, you are always listening to music, or updating your facebook status to brag about the amazing workout you are doing. Problem is, it's not yet a seamless experience? What do I mean? Well when you go for a run right now, you have to plug in your headphones, turn on the music, strap on your Garmin watch, load the Nike+ Running application. Then when you are ready to start running, you turn on the Garmin Watch, you then start your playlist, then swipe back to the Nike+ running application to press start and hear “Beginning Workout”.

As you run, you want to take a picture of something awesome you see, but you can't do it! Or you can stop the run, take your iPhone out of its carrying case on your arm band, and then snap the picture. Of course you have to pause the workout, stop the music, start it back up all over again when you start running. When you get home, you need to sync your garmin watch, sync your phone, upload your pictures. I mean serious, the whole process is a nightmare!

What Microsoft and Nokia Will Bring

Microsoft purchasing Nokia will bring a new era of technology advancement to the current slow pace of technol0gy innovation. Stephen Elop will now likely become CEO of Microsoft, and Microsoft will finally have its hardware division it has so desperately been lacking over the last 5 years. What does this mean? Microsoft is about to flood the fitness community with innovation and technology the likes of which you have never seen.

Imagine a watch that is your phone, your facebook, your GPS, your music player, all in one device. Imagine that it magically talks to your television, your XBOX, connects to your shoes via WiFi and wireless networks. This is the level of innovation Microsoft will now bring to the table with the purchase of Nokia's mobile division.

Exciting times are ahead.
