  5. Do they understand marketing, social media, and blogging? Will they help you spread and multiply your message.

You need to get in great shape, and stay in great shape to be a Diamond Beachbody Coach. This is the best part about becoming a Beachbody Coach! People often ask me “Do you have any tips for me on how I can become a successful Beachbody Coach?” I used to try and come up with some complicated answers, but the reality is Beachbody is not complicated. It is actually very easy to be a successful Beachbody Coach. Over the next little while I'm going to publish videos that explain exactly what I do that makes me the most successful Beachbody Coach in Canada. Today, I want to talk about consistency.

Why is Consistency So Important?

Tony Robbins says it best “It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” So many people get so excited when they hear the Beachbody National Wake-Up Call, or head to Coach Summit, or dial into a team meeting. They do some amazing things for a day or two, maybe even a week or two, but then they taper off.

This is likely what you do. This post may even fire you up right now (at least I hope if it doesn't, my video should!), but then you will likely slow down. And that is ultimately the problem. You need to be consistent. Only consistent actions will give you results you are looking for. Coaches are always telling me “Well I am a product of the product, I do invite people, and I just went to a seminar last weekend to work on my personal development, but it doesn't work!” My first question is always: “But are you doing that consistently, have you been doing that every single day for the last 6 months. A year?”

It's not hard to do some things once in a while. It's hard to do the same things consistently all the time. That is what will make you great. That is what will make you a successful Beachbody Coach.

  1. Master the Coach Online Office
    Learn to navigate the Coach Online Office. This is your bread and butter. So many coaches just ignore the Coach Online office and worry about everything else. I live in the Coach Online Office. Master it! Learn how to place your coaches, learn how
  2. Master Direct Link Creation
    Learn to create direct links to the exact products. People do not like options for the most part. They need to be told exactly what to do. Making links is explained by Beachbody in a PDF file that is hidden in the Coach Online Office, however it can get tricky. That's why I made Smart Coach for iPhone. It lets you make direct link, and email them right from the iPhone application with the fitness program description.
  3. Master Working Out and Eating Healthy
    Do your workouts like your business depends on it, because it does! With everything else you are doing, you are going to run out of time and some things will suffer. However, whatever you do, do not skip your workouts. The reason people come to you, find you, follow you, and contact you is because you are a role model for health and fitness.
  4. Master Social Media
    Social Media is your megaphone. You need to master Social Media. Social Media is your megaphone. As long as you are doing everything right, Social Media will amplify your efforts.
  5. Master Communication
    Become a great communicator. Communication is the foundation to everything. No matter what business you are in, if you can't communicate you are going to struggle. With Beachbody
  6. Master Personal Development
    I know it sounds silly to add in “Master Personal Development”, but it's true. Learn to make the most out of every hour of the day. On your way to work, listen to personal development audiobooks. Sitting in a plane? Read a personal development book. Have some free time in the evening? Chose to expand your skills and start applying the lessons you have learned.
  7. Master Filtering
    Filter potentials quickly. You have to get good at knowing when someone is serious and ready to go, thinking about it, or just not interested right now. Those are the three categories I use.
  8. Master the Phone
    Everyone is always so interested in automating their business. The reality is the best way to do well as a Beachbody coach is to take the time to talk to people on the phone or in person. I've met so many people that want to do well at Beachbody, but they tell me they don't want to get on the phone or meet people in person. They prefer to do everything online. Well I am sorry to say but that isn't going to work.
  9. Master K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid)
    Don't make it complicated. Beachbody can get complicated real fast. However, you need to keep things simple and add new things once a week. Don't try and do everything all at once.
  10. Master Branding Yourself
    If you want to become a 6 figure and above earner at any Network Marketing business, you are going to have to get really good at branding yourself.

Things start going well for you, or you get excited about something, and people start finding all the reasons why you are an idiot. They make sure they tell you why it won't work, why you have no clue what you're getting into, and why you will not make your dreams come true. Have you ever had a friend or even a family member do this to you? Aren't your friends and family supposed to encourage you and support you?

Sadly, you are going to run into a lot of people like this. Naysayers, dream stealers, whatever you want to call them. You need to learn to ignore them. It's not that they aren't nice people. It's just that they are stuck in a rut and they don't want to lose you! It's true. People want to be around people that are just like them. So if your friend is working a 9 to 5 job, 40 hours a week, they want you to be stuck in the same boat as they are! If you have a dream or ambition to change it so you can work 20 hours a week, and work from home, they will stop at NOTHING to tear you down. It's just human behavior. So how do you deal with it?

5 Ways to Deal With Negative People

1. Don't engage with them! It's simple, these people usually tend to harp on bad things and ignore anything positive. They will exaggerate any issue, the bad weather, or the losing sports team. So don't get sucked into their level, or their negative conversation. Realize, they will likely not be moving anywhere better any time soon, and you are! They will want to take you down to their level. Just walk away…

2. Surround them with positive people. If you want to give it a shot and help them out, get a group together of positive people, and watch magic unfold. As they start being negative, the positive people surrounding them will drown them out, and they will be left with two options: a) walk away b) start being positive! Works like a champ!

3. Realize it doesn't matter what they think. Hey listen, it doesn't matter if people don't believe in YOUR dream. After all, it's YOUR dream, not their dream. Chances are they likely have no interest in your dream to begin with. If they thought it was a good idea, or they thought it was awesome, it might be their dream.

4. Be positive, be a leader. The best way to deal with negative people, is to stay positive and lead by example. Listen, and then continue to be positive. Walk away, stay positive, create your dream, take action, make it a reality, and be a leader. This is a key way to deal with negative people. Once you succeed, invite them out for lunch and watch them become your biggest fan.

5. Don't take it personally. Learn to love the negative. What? Seriously, if you want to change your business, you have to realize that a negative person just means you can move on to the next person! They clearly have some issues, and you can move on to find people that really need your help!

Dealing with negative people can be awkward at first, but once you get used to it, you will realize that for every negative person, there are many more positive people! The best way to get new prospects into your business is to get the “no”‘s and move on as fast as possible!

Time and time again I see people with massive suitcases at the airport stressing out with these massive bags! Some people show up with a huge suitcase, and then a carry on bag, and a laptop bag! Why? Are they going to Australia for three months? And what are you bringing with you that you need so much stuff? Stop the insanity people (unless you want to try Shaun T Insanity)! Most of the people that walk through the isles bumping everyone with their over-sized bags, are only going somewhere for a couple days! Let me teach you how to pack. First off, here is a picture of everything I packed into a backpack:

This means I carry one bag with through security, one bag on the plane, and I only have to focus on one thing! That's it! No laptop bags, no carry on bag, no bag to check. I check-in to my flight 24 hours before, get my boarding pass, done! And when I get to the airport, I head straight to security. This is the way the pro's travel.

The Trick To Packing Light

This can be especially true when your first getting started and haven't really made fitness a part of your daily routine. So I wanted to give you 10 awesome ways that you can sneak in an extra workout without losing any time during your day:

10 ways to sneak in an extra workout

  1. Workout on the way to work
    Most of us drive, take a train, or a bus to work. What about running to work? Biking to work? Adding this simple workout to your day can burn an extra 300 to 600 calories a day.
  2. Workout at lunch
    Ok this is my secret weapon. Head to the gym if you can at 11am or 1pm instead of lunch. For lunch? I have a Shakeology shake. Pow, 50 pounds gone!
  3. Workout in the morning
    This one is fairly easy as long as you get to bed early. Simply set your alarm one hour earlier than your used to, and power through a 15 minute HITT workout.
  4.  Workout at work
    Another one of my secret weapons. Instead of walking to Tim Horton's if you are in Canada, or Starbucks, grab a glass of water, and GIVE ME 20! Seriously, do 20 or 30 push=ups, then maybe do a few lunges to get the heart rate going.
  5. Burn fat while standing in line
    I am addicted to this one, and you don't have to have everyone notice you're doing it. One of my favorites is tensing my abs, holding, then letting go. Shoulder shrugs, and others are un-noticeable. If you are feeling brave, start doing lunges. And give me a call so I can come watch.
  6. Exercise with Kids
    Strap on the kids, do some squats. Grab the stroller and go for a jog! Pushing two kids in a stroller at a fast pace burns the fat.
  7. Get more out of the treadmill
    I love to do punching and blocking on the treadmill. Adds a nice arm workout, and burns more calories. You can also grab a three pound weight and move your arms more when you run.
  8. Power up the stairs and escalators
    I've started doing this one and it's awesome. I always run up the escalators at work now, and run up the stairs. Same goes with the way down. Just be careful you don't run over someone standing there.
  9. Exercise while you watch TV
    Have the TV on? It's not that bad as long as you are MOVING. Get on a fitness ball, do some squats, move! Motion creates emotion, and burns fat.
  10. Make it a social thing
    Instead of going to the restaurant on a date, try heading to the gym! Play a game of Basketball or Volleyball. You'll find getting everyone's endorphins going isn't a bad thing for date night.

There you have it, if you follow these tips, you will melt off the fat. If you exercise once a day, and add a few of these tips, you will become a fat burning machine. I've calculated on average I am burning about 700 calories EXTRA a day than I was previously burning by just sitting on my ass. Become  a smart ass 😉

If you are going out for lunch you probably spend between $10 and $20 on lunch. So what if I told you that you could cut down your lunch costs to $3 a day. What could you do with an extra $7 a day in your pocket? Or an extra $140 in your pocket? You could even replace a Tazo Chai Latte from Starbucks and still save yourself some money!

Lunch time is a critical time of the day to get some good nutrition into your body, yet so many people end up eating junk. You need to replenish your body with healthy food, and at the same time make sure you eat enough to keep you full. You know, the days where you look outside and can’t imagine going for that run. The days where you see that gym bag at the front door, but the trek to the gym and back seems way too daunting. Especially in the beginning when you are first starting to exercise, these are the days where you are trying to cross the chasm from: doing something because you feel like you should do it but don't enjoy it, to something you enjoy doing every day and look forward to as much as you might currently enjoy watching television. This is a critical time in your transformation. You need to convert something that is hard work and extra effort, to something that is habit.

So when you don’t feel like doing any exercise, these are the days you need to power through. So how do we do it?

Make It A Quick Workout

You don’t need more than 20 minutes a day to get some sweat out of your body and pushing yourself into an elevated heart rate. For me I found the Turbofire HITT workouts work the best on the days I don’t feel like working out. These are not easy workouts, don’t get me wrong by reading the “quick” part. These workouts will give you a one minute “give it everything you’ve got” workout, and then give you a small break before doing it all over again. Chalene has four different HITT workouts, a 15 minute, 20 minute, 25 minute, and 30 minute HITT. Just pick the one you want to power out and get it done!

The other thing you can do is just go for a quick run, or a quick bike ride, but for some people that might be a little too much effort to put in. Honestly, the easiest thing is to pop in a dvd and hit the play button.

Reward Yourself

The days you don’t feel like working out, you are probably also thinking about eating something not that great for your body. Maybe it’s a donut, maybe it’s a grilled cheese sandwich. Tell yourself “Self, once I finish that twenty minute workout, I will eat that grilled cheese sandwich, but not before.” By telling yourself this one little sentence, your brain will start associating pleasure with working out, instead of pain. This may seem like a simple trick, but it works remarkably well. You have to learn to use your brain to help you get into shape, not hurt you.

Upgrade The Reward to a True Reward

The wonderful thing about once you finish a workout, is your body will start craving good foods. This happens for many reasons. For one, your brain says “Hey, you just worked so hard, don’t ruin it with that junk food.” And secondly, your brain says “Give me some awesome fuel to repair my muscles and recovery quickly.” Donuts and soda do not repair anything, so your body will naturally want to stay away from these processed foods with zero nutritional value.

This might mean that you forget that donut, and start looking at that tasty after workout shake. Maybe you add some milk instead of water, and pack in some ice cubes for an extra treat.

Final Fitness Thoughts

If you want to set yourself up for success and truly want to lose weight, you need to be ready for the days you don't feel like exercising  You need to have the DVD ready so you don't waist time. So many times I talk to people that tell me they spend more time thinking about why they should or shouldn't workout, that had they simply just worked out, they would have been done the workout by now.
